2017, Acrylic on canvas, 250x300mm.
This is painting number two of the new year, but was painted simultaneously to the last painting I blogged about, the next one I’m going to blog about, and infact it’s number 2 in a series of 3. Now that I’ve hurt my brain writing that let’s look at the facts, this is a continuation of colourful paint running rain with a silhouette tucked in for good measure. Like the last painting I’ve gone to classical cinema for my theme with a still from “Singing in the Rain”, another fun film which is beautiful on the eye despite its sometimes occasional bleak aesthetics. You’ll probably recognise the quite famous silhouette of Gene Kelly hanging off a lamppost embracing the rain. It’s his spirit at that that moment which somehow brightens up the colourful rain a little bit more. Like my last painting I’ve finished off the rain with liquid glass paint to make the rain stand off the canvas.
I am delighted with the way this came out. I hope you like it too, and I hope to see you here again soon as I blog about the third and final painting in this series… when I say series I mean until I run out of paint and packs of canvases. Until then, thanks for reading and please feel free to comment or rate this blog. Bye.
